Connect with an API token

1. In ADP Workforce Now:

   1. Have your organization subscribe to ADP API Central for ADP Workforce Now in the ADP Marketplace (apps.adp.com); pricing is shown only after login.
   2. In API Central, start a new project. ADP generates the project's API credentials (client ID and client secret) automatically when the project is started, and you can reset them at any time.

   ADP Workforce Now's public documentation does not cover every step.

   ADP Workforce Now does not issue personal API tokens. Customer-side API access comes through ADP API Central, a Marketplace add-on, where starting a project generates OAuth client credentials. ADP's credentials guide (PDF on marketplace-cdn.adp.com) says data APIs take OAuth tokens from https://accounts.adp.com/auth/oauth/v2/token and that requests to ADP APIs must include an ADP-issued client certificate (mutual TLS); data APIs are on https://api.adp.com. That guide covers the partner (Marketplace app) flow, not the API Central screens. developers.adp.com, which holds the API Central and certificate-signing-request articles, renders only with JavaScript and could not be read, so the API Central menu labels, how to choose read-only APIs for a project, and how to generate the certificate are not sourced. Verification: the Marketplace listing states "Credentials are automatically generated as soon as you start a new project. You can reset your credentials any time." and shows "Login to see prices"; the credentials PDF was read and confirms the accounts.adp.com token URL and that API requests must include the certificate generated in the Partner Self-Service portal.

2. On Compliance › Connectors, open ADP Workforce Now, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:
