Connect with an API token

  1. In Dropbox:

    1. Sign in as a Dropbox team admin and open the App Console (https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps) to register an app.
    2. On the app's Permissions tab, select the team scopes the app needs.
    3. On the app's settings page, in the OAuth 2 section, press Generate to create an access token for your own account, and copy it.

Dropbox's public documentation does not cover every step.

    Source: docs.dropboxapi.com, developers.dropbox.com, checked 2026-10-07.

    The permissions Safeguard needs: members.read.

  2. On Compliance › Connectors, open Dropbox, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

Access tokenRequired. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
  3. Click Connect with token.

Frameworks

Safeguard's automated tests read Dropbox and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
