Connect with an API token
-
In Better Stack:
- In Better Stack, go to API tokens › Team-based tokens and select your team.
- In the Uptime API tokens section, copy an existing token or create a new one.
Better Stack's public documentation does not cover every step.
A team-based Uptime token is narrower than a global API token, which is valid across all teams. Read-only tokens, where to create the optional Telemetry token, and whether tokens are shown only once were not on the fetched page.

The permissions Safeguard needs. Better Stack issues no read-only credential. Safeguard only reads with it, and you can revoke it at any time.
-
On Compliance › Connectors, open Better Stack, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:
Field What to enter API token Required. Stored encrypted and never shown again. Telemetry token (optional) Stored encrypted and never shown again. -
Click Connect with token.
Frameworks
Safeguard's automated tests read Better Stack and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
| Framework | Evidence | Controls | Tests |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOC2 | Automated tests | CC7.2, CC7.4 | 3 |
| ISO/IEC 27001 | Automated tests | A.5.24, A.8.15, A.8.16 | 3 |
| HIPAA Security Rule | Automated tests | 164.308(a)(6), 164.312(b) | 3 |
| PCI DSS | Automated tests | 10.4.1, 10.5.1, 12.10.1 | 3 |
| NIST CSF 2.0 | Automated tests | DE.CM-01, PR.PS-04, RS.MA-01 | 3 |
These tests are switched on per workspace by the Safeguard team.
