Wi-Fi Scan

Assess local wireless posture — open, weak-encryption, and possible rogue networks

Wi-Fi Scan

The Wi-Fi scan enumerates the wireless networks visible from your location and assesses their posture. Open networks, networks using weak or legacy encryption, and possible evil-twin networks surface as findings.

Run it from the Safeguard CLI on a machine with a wireless adapter, on site. It uses your operating system's own wireless tools, so no special driver setup is required.

Prerequisites

  • The Safeguard CLI installed and signed in.
  • A working wireless adapter on the machine.
  • Authorization (--i-am-authorised or an authorizing scope.yaml).

Usage

safeguard wifi-scan --i-am-authorised

What you get

  • Findings — open, weak-encryption (e.g. WEP / legacy WPA), and possible rogue / evil-twin networks in range.

Results upload to a project in your console when the scan completes.

Notes

  • If your platform's wireless tooling is unavailable, the scan reports the capability as unavailable rather than returning a silent clean result.
  • Assess only wireless environments you are responsible for.
