Connect with an API token

In Kolide:
- In the Device Trust (Kolide) admin console, click your user avatar in the upper-right corner and click Settings.
- In the menu on the left, click Developers, then API Keys in the sub-menu.
- Click Create New Key, enter a name for the key and the Device Trust administrator responsible for it.
- Do not select any of the special write permissions, so the key stays read-only. Click Save.
- Click the duplicate button to copy the token.
Kolide is now 1Password Device Trust. Admins with Full Access can later view the secret with Reveal Secret (logged in the audit log), so it is not shown only once.

The permissions Safeguard needs:
read-only (no write permissions ticked). -
On Compliance › Connectors, open Kolide, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

Click Connect with token.
Frameworks
Safeguard's automated tests read Kolide and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.

These tests are switched on per workspace by the Safeguard team.
