Connect with an API token
-
In Fairwinds Polaris:
- In Fairwinds Insights (the hosted product that runs Polaris), open your organization's Settings page.
- Go to the Tokens page.
- Click Show Tokens and copy the organization token.
Where to find the other values:
- Base URL (optional): The Insights API is served from https://insights.fairwinds.com (API paths start with /v0/). Leave blank unless you run a self-hosted Insights.
- Account / Org / Workspace (optional): Your Insights organization name, as used in the API path https://insights.fairwinds.com/v0/organizations/<your org>. Tokens are scoped to that organization.
Open-source Polaris has no API or tokens; this applies to Fairwinds Insights. The docs say tokens are scoped to one organization but do not document a read-only token type, so least privilege cannot be chosen at creation. The page showing the organization name in the UI is not documented; it is taken from the API path example.
