Certificates: verifying & sharing

The public certificate page

Every issued certificate lives at a public URL:

https://academy.safeguard.sh/cert/<cert-id>

The page renders the certificate itself — holder name, certification, issue and expiry dates — plus live verification status. It requires no account to view, and shared links unfurl as rich cards on LinkedIn and X. academy.safeguard.sh/verify/<cert-id> redirects to the same page.

Verification is truthful by design:

• Active certificates show as valid.
• Expired and revoked certificates say so, plainly.
• Unknown IDs return a clean 404. Certificate IDs are non-enumerable, so pages can't be guessed or crawled.

For anyone checking a credential — a hiring manager, a customer, a colleague — opening the link is the entire verification process.

Sharing

From your certificate page you can:

• Copy the shareable link — the public URL above.
• Add to LinkedIn in one click — a prefilled "Add to profile" deep link with the certification name, issue date, and credential URL.
• Post directly to LinkedIn, X, or Reddit — connect the account once under Settings → Connected accounts, then post from the certificate page with prefilled text and the certificate link. Your posting history is kept alongside the certificate.
• Share to Facebook or Instagram via each platform's share flow.
• Download the PDF — a branded certificate document carrying a QR code that resolves to the public verification page, so even a printed copy is verifiable.

Newly earned certificates also appear in the Academy feed (you can opt out per certificate).

Expiry and renewal

Certificates carry the validity period of their certification (24 months for the Safeguard Certified Practitioner). Upcoming expiries appear on your calendar and dashboard. An expired certificate's page stays up — showing its expired status — and re-certifying issues a fresh certificate.

Revocation

Safeguard can revoke a certificate (for example, for exam misconduct). Revocation is audit-logged and reflected immediately on the public page.
