Safeguard Docs
MCP Integrations

Docs, downloads, pricing, Gold and Academy tools

MCP tools that let an assistant search the Safeguard docs, give download links, show pricing and calculate a price for your usage, look up Gold, and browse Safeguard Academy, the blog, press releases and events.

Docs, downloads, pricing, Gold and Academy tools

These read-only tools let an assistant connected to the Safeguard MCP server answer questions about Safeguard itself: where to download a client, what a plan costs, what Gold knows about a package, which Academy course to take. None of them changes anything, and none reads your workspace's data except Gold requests, which reads your organization's own requests.

Each tool is off until an administrator switches it on for your workspace, like every MCP tool outside the default set. See Tool availability & gating.

Documentation

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_search_docsSearches docs.safeguard.sh and returns the matching pages, with links.
safeguard_get_doc_pageReads one docs page, so the assistant can answer from its exact text.

Downloads

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_get_download_linksThe links to install Safeguard: the desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, the CLI install commands, the iOS and Android apps, the Chrome extensions, and the VS Code, Open VSX and JetBrains extensions. Filter by platform.
safeguard_get_client_versionsThe latest published version of each client, from Safeguard's release feed.

Every link is one Safeguard checked answers, and a client that is not published yet is reported as such rather than linked. The same links are on safeguard.sh/download.

Pricing

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_get_pricingThe plans and prices on safeguard.sh/pricing, shown as the page shows them, with local-currency amounts for a country when you ask (those are indicative conversions). Business, Enterprise and Sovereign read Contact us, as on the page.
safeguard_pricing_calculatorA pricing calculator: works out which published plan fits your usage (users, components scanned and fix pull requests a month) and what it costs monthly and yearly. MCP tool calls are unlimited on every plan, Free included, and never charged, so they never decide the plan. When your usage is beyond the self-serve plans, it says you need a custom plan, which Safeguard quotes per customer, and prepares a summary of your usage to send to sales. It never invents a price for a custom plan.
safeguard_list_available_plansThe plans an administrator has made available for your workspace to buy.

The pricing tools repeat the pricing page's own note that all figures are proposed pending final sign-off, so an assistant never states a price more firmly than the page does.

Gold

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_search_goldSearches Safeguard Gold for packages, CVEs and actively exploited vulnerabilities.
safeguard_get_gold_packageOne package's known vulnerabilities, with which are on the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities list, and whether it shows as Gold Certified (no known vulnerabilities and not deprecated).
safeguard_list_gold_requestsYour organization's Gold requests from Open Source Manager, with their status. It never shows who made a request.

Safeguard Academy

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_list_academy_coursesCourses and certifications on academy.safeguard.sh, filterable by type, level and audience.
safeguard_get_academy_courseOne course's outline: its modules and lessons, and the certification it leads to.
safeguard_verify_academy_certificateChecks a certificate by the ID printed on it.
safeguard_list_academy_sessionsUpcoming and past live sessions and meetups, with times in UTC. Join links are on academy.safeguard.sh/events, not in the tool.

Blog, press and events

ToolWhat it does
safeguard_list_blog_posts, safeguard_get_blog_postSafeguard's blog posts, by search, category or tag.
safeguard_list_press_releasesSafeguard's press releases.
safeguard_list_eventsSafeguard's upcoming and past events. The tool never registers you; registration is on the event's page.

Only published items appear: a post scheduled for a later date is left out until it is live.
