Connect with an API token

  1. In Documenso:

    1. Log in to Documenso and open the team Safeguard should read (API tokens are scoped to a team).
    2. Go to Team Settings › API Tokens (or open /t/\{teamUrl\}/settings/tokens).
    3. Click Create Token, enter a descriptive name, select an expiration period (7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or Never), and click Create Token.
    4. Copy the token (it starts with api_) immediately; it is displayed once.

Where to find the other values:

    • Base URL (optional): Production https://app.documenso.com/api/v2; staging https://stg-app.documenso.com/api/v2; self-hosted https://your-domain.com/api/v2.
    • Account / Org / Workspace (optional): The team URL (\{teamUrl\}) of the team you created the token in, as shown in /t/\{teamUrl\}/... in the browser.

Documenso shows the secret only once, so copy it before you leave the page.

"API tokens grant full API access to the team they were created for"; there is no read-only token. API access is available on all plans (Free is limited to 5 documents per month). API V1 is deprecated; use V2. Set an expiration and rotate the token.

Frameworks

Documenso publishes no API for what these tests check, so its evidence is an attestation: connect it to record the connection, then attest the result. An accepted attestation counts toward each control below.
