Connect with an API token

In Census:
- Census Organization APIs (which include listing workspace users) authenticate with a Personal Access Token. Sign in to Census as the user whose permissions the token should carry.
- Go to your user settings page and, under the Personal Access Tokens section, click New Token.
- Give the token a unique name so you can remember how it is being used, and copy it to your clipboard.
Census's public documentation does not cover every step.
Census is now Fivetran Activations; its API docs moved to fivetran.com. Personal access tokens "carry the same permissions as the user who generates them"; Census documents no read-only token type. A workspace-level API key also exists (workspace settings › API Access) but is for Workspace APIs, not the organization user list. Not sourced: where the Workspace ID is shown in the Census UI. The docs do not say whether the token is shown only once.

The permissions Safeguard needs:
organization API token. -
On Compliance › Connectors, open Census, click Connect, choose API token and fill in:

Frameworks
Safeguard's automated tests read Census and map to the controls below. When a test passes, the result is evidence toward each control it maps to, in every framework listed. It is evidence toward a control, not proof that the control is met on its own.
