What's New — July 2026

A summary of the July 2026 release wave. All items are generally available to existing customers unless noted; MCP tiers, custom-domain Trust Center pages, and the browser extensions roll out per plan.

Agentic Search (Griffin)

• Live activity view. Every search turn streams what the model is doing in real time — thinking, tool calls, web pages read, sandboxed code runs, and spawned sub-agents — with a status line that updates as work happens. See Griffin AI and Search Skills.
• Reliable web research. Web search runs through a multi-provider cascade (Tavily → Serper → keyless fallbacks), so general questions return real, cited results. Set TAVILY_API_KEY or SERPER_API_KEY for production reliability.
• Model tiers. Choose a tier per turn — Lino (fast, basic queries), Eagle, and the flagship Griffin — each with the right tool budget. See AI Models.
• Research reports as artifacts. Deep-research answers open as a report in a side panel, with inline sources.

Trust Center (Portal)

The public Trust Center is now entity-backed and owner-governed. See Portal.

• Default-private publish. A Trust Center page 404s publicly until an owner explicitly publishes it. The public resolver filters fields server-side by visibility tier — internal data can never leak.
• Artifact sharing. Downloadable SBOM, VEX, and AI-BOM (CycloneDX) artifacts generated from your scans.
• NDA-gated documents. Request → owner-approve → time-boxed, signed download, with every grant, view, and download written to an append-only access audit.
• Questionnaire auto-answer. Import SIG / CAIQ / spreadsheet questionnaires and get grounded draft answers from your approved trust content, each with a confidence level and cited sources for human review.

Platforms & access

A new Platforms tab in Integrations lists every way to use Safeguard, across all four products:

• Web app, CLI, and IDE extensions (VS Code, JetBrains) — see Browser Extension and Desktop App.
• MCP server available across all four products, with capability depth controlled per plan — see MCP.
• Cloud marketplace deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Browser extensions

• Safeguard side panel — brings Griffin search alongside any browser tab (no host permissions, no data collection).
• Gold Open Source — a lightweight launcher for Safeguard Gold, the public open-source CVE and package intelligence site.

Fixes

• Project/product comparison via the bulk-query rail is fixed — the compare drawer and any dashboard comparison widget now populate correctly across all surfaces.
